Mobile Dog Groomer Services in Kirkland & Eastside

At Urban Doggie, every dog groomer service is an all-inclusive mobile grooming experience...  — no hidden fees, no cage dryers, no other dogs. Just a private, unhurried spa session for your small dog, delivered right to your driveway by a Certified Small Dog Specialist with 22 years of experience.

The Urban Doggie 15-Step Signature Spa

Most mobile groomers offer a bath and a haircut.  Every Urban Doggie appointment is something more — 15 carefully sequenced steps covering your dog's health, hygiene, comfort, and style, from the moment I arrive to the moment I hand them back to you.

Health & Hygiene

1. Welcome & Relax I don't rush into anything. I start with a proper hello — some hugs, some gentle reassurance — so your pup has a chance to settle in and feel safe before I begin.

2. Health Check Before the bath, I do a thorough once-over: skin, coat, eyes, ears, and paws. If I notice anything worth your attention, I'll let you know.

3. Top Shelf Hydro-Bath A deep, professional wash using premium pH-balanced shampoos chosen specifically for your dog's coat type.

4. Facial Scrub Gentle, tearless cleansing around the eyes, muzzle, and chin — the areas that deserve extra care.

5. Nail Trimming Careful, precise trimming of nails and dewclaws to a comfortable, safe length. Included always — not an add-on.

6. Ear Cleaning Soothing removal of debris to keep ears healthy and prevent infection.

7. Gland Expression External anal gland maintenance as part of your dog's routine care. Most groomers charge extra. It's included with me.

8. Eye Clearing Careful trimming around the eyes for better visibility, comfort, and cleanliness.

Styling & Comfort

9. Precision Haircut Hand-finished, breed-specific styling tailored to your dog's coat and your preferences. I'll always check in with you about what you're hoping for before I start.

10. Hand Blow-Dry A thorough professional dry using a hand-held dryer only. No cage dryers — ever. Your

dog is on the table and in my hands the entire time.

11. Sanitary Trim A hygiene-focused cleanup of the belly, groin, and hindquarters areas.

12. Paw Pad Care Trimming the hair between paw pads for better traction inside your home and out — especially important on Kirkland's wet surfaces in the rainy months.

13. Deep Brush-Out A thorough brush-through to remove dead hair, prevent matting, and leave the coat smooth and shiny.

14. Curated Finishing Touch A seasonally curated bandana to send your pup home in style. A small thing, but it makes people smile every time.

15. Hugs & Kisses The send-off they've earned. Your dog leaves clean, happy, and ready to be shown off.

No Surprises. All-Inclusive.

Pricing is straightforward, and I believe in keeping it that way. On rare occasions — a coat that's more matted than expected, a breed with particularly involved styling, or a

dog who needs a slower, more patient approach — there may be a small adjustment. If that's ever the case, I'll let you know right away. You will never open your invoice and find a number you weren't expecting.

Why Small Dogs Deserve a Specialist

When you're searching for dog groomer services that truly understand small breeds, the difference a specialist makes isn't subtle. Here's something most pet owners don't realize until they've had a bad experience: small dogs are genuinely harder to groom well. Delicate bone structure, sensitive skin, nervous temperaments, and coat types that vary wildly from breed to breed — it all adds up to a grooming experience that requires real specialization. At Urban Doggie, small dogs aren't a category on a menu. They're the whole menu. Here's what that means for your pup:

1. A calm space built around them. A lot of small dogs are nervous around bigger breeds  — and honestly, who can blame them? My van is a big-dog-free zone, always. No barking from the next kennel, no chaos, no waiting. Just a quiet, unhurried space where your dog can actually relax. For anxious pups, seniors, or dogs coming in for their very first groom, that calm makes all the difference.

2. Tools that actually fit. Everything in my van — the tub, the table, the shears, the dryers — is sized for small dogs. Nothing is oversized or adapted from a large-breed setup. When your Yorkie or Bichon is on my table, every tool I reach for was chosen with dogs exactly like them in mind.

3. Twenty-one years of knowing small coats Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, Maltipoos, Havanese, Bichons, Yorkies — each one has its own coat texture, growth pattern, and quirks. After two decades working exclusively with these breeds, I know how to brush, dry, and scissor each coat in a way that prevents matting, protects sensitive skin, and gets the breed-appropriate result your dog deserves. It's the kind of knowledge you can only build over time.

4. One dog. Full attention. Always. Because I never juggle multiple dogs or large breeds, your pup has me — all of me — for the entire appointment. I can focus on the fine details of the groom and, just as importantly, on how your dog is feeling throughout. For seniors and dogs with health conditions, that kind of attentiveness isn't optional — it's the whole point.

BREED-SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

Kirkland's Favorite Small Dogs — and the Grooms They Deserve

Every breed on this list has its own coat personality — its own quirks, tendencies, and grooming demands. Here are a few of the breeds I work with most, and what I've learned about them over two decades.

The Maltipoo (and Doodle Mixes) The iconic Teddy Bear cut. Maltipoo coats are a mix of silky hair and wooly curl — beautiful, but prone to matting in our damp PNW weather. I specialize in thorough brush-outs and precision scissor work to maintain that soft, fluffy look between visits.

The Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) Elegant, silky, and precise. Yorkie hair is remarkably similar to human hair, which means it needs to be handled accordingly. Whether you prefer a short Puppy Cut for easy maintenance or a traditional floor-length coat, I focus on gentle handling and sharp, clean lines that highlight their spirited personality.

The Havanese The Cotton Candy fluff. Havanese have a double coat that acts as natural insulation. I use specialized de-shedding and hand-drying techniques to keep their coat light and airy without stripping the natural oils — so their skin stays as healthy as their coat looks.

The Bichon Frisé The Powder Puff finish. Bichons are a real test of a groomer's skill — that perfectly rounded head and velvety texture require expert scissoring and a lot of patience. After 21 years, I still love the moment a Bichon steps off the table.

The Toy & Miniature Poodle Athletic, clean, and sophisticated. Poodles are intelligent and sensitive, which means the environment matters as much as the technique. I keep things calm and quiet during the high-precision moments — clean face, clean feet — and the results speak for themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Groomer Services in Kirkland & Eastside

How much does mobile dog grooming cost in Kirkland?

Urban Doggie's all-inclusive mobile grooming package starts at $185 for dogs under 25 lbs. That covers every step of the 15-point signature spa, travel to your door, and all grooming products. No add-on fees. If anything might affect the final price — heavy matting, breed-specific complexity — I'll always tell you as soon as I know.

What small dog breeds do you groom in Kirkland?

Most small breeds under 25 lbs. The full list is above, and it covers the vast majority of small dogs in Kirkland and the Eastside. Including Maltipoos, Yorkies, Shih Tzus, Bichon Frisés, Pomeranians, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Toy and Miniature Poodles, Maltese, Miniature Schnauzers, Havanese, Cockapoos, Lhasa Apsos, and many more. When in doubt, just give us a text or a call.

How often should I schedule a mobile grooming appointment?

Most small breeds benefit from professional grooming every four to six weeks. Breeds with continuously growing coats — such as Shih Tzus, Maltipoos, Poodle mixes, and Bichon Frisés — typically need more frequent visits to prevent matting and maintain coat health. I am happy to recommend a grooming cadence for your specific dog during your first appointment.

Do you groom puppies for the first time?

Yes — and starting early is one of the best things you can do for your dog's long-term grooming experience. I recommend a puppy's first grooming introduction at around 12 to 16 weeks, after their initial vaccinations. The first appointment is relaxed and gentle, focused on making grooming feel safe and familiar. Dogs who start young

are consistently easier to groom for the rest of their lives.

Are you available on weekends?

I operate Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Weekend appointments aren't available at this time. Check current availability online or call 425-820-1000.

Your small dog deserves the full treatment — without the chaos of a busy salon.

Urban Doggie is currently booking new clients throughout Kirkland and the Eastside. New clients receive $35

off their first appointment, applied automatically at checkout. I'd love to meet your pup.
